I am a semi-professional outdoor adventure and landscape photographer, which is an impressive way of saying that I am a guy who likes to spend a lot of time outside and picked up a camera a while back to start documenting my adventures. I have learned a bit along the way, and today, photography is a major component of my adventures in the outdoors. While I am not immune to car camping, and you may recognize some of the iconic locations in my photos, my true passion is in the backcountry, and most of the photos you see here were captured well off the beaten path, whether on multi-day backpacking adventures, backcountry ski trips, or sea and river kayaking expeditions.
I am based in Seattle, Washington in the upper left corner of the United States, and many of my photos were captured in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. That said, I spend a lot of time on the road and am lucky to have carried my camera to beautiful places throughout the American west and around the world. My photos attempt to capture the natural beauty of the outdoors and the human spirit on display in the outdoor environment that has become such a big part of my life.
As far as the semi-professional part, I don’t make my entire living selling photos, but I am honored to have sold a handful, and I am gradually turning this hobby into a legitimate business. All of the photos on this site are available as prints and can be licensed for commercial use by contacting me directly. I believe strongly in supporting the non-profit organizations that are fighting to protect the natural places where these photos were taken, and I am happy to donate photos that help support environmental causes.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I love taking them, and if nothing else, may they inspire you to get outside and seek your next adventure.
